Our Inspirations

Late Prof M S Swaminathan,

(Patron and Emeritus Chair)

He is the founder and chairman of the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation who was deeply committed to the cause of sustainable food and nutrition security for all. He is known as the “Father of Indian Green Revolution” for his leadership in successfully introducing and developing the high-yielding varieties of wheat in India. He is the founder and patron of The Coalition for Food and Nutrition Security. His work focused on the role of technology for addressing the issues and challenges like malnutrition, climate change and hunger. He was posthumously conferred with the prestigious Bharat Ratna Award.

Late Coluthur Gopalan

He initiated nutrition research in independent India such as the Integrated Child
Development Services, the midday meal scheme for school children, goitre prevention
programme, etc. He was a recipient of the civilian honours of the Padma Shri and the
Padma Bhushan. He said; FARM NOT PHARMACY is the solution address
malnutrition.

Late Verghese Kurien

Popularly known as the Father of the White Revolution in India, Operation Flood, Dr.
Kurien made dairy farming India’s largest self-sustaining industry and the largest rural
employment sector providing a third of all rural income.

He continuously tried to bring a
new generation farmers’ organisation called “Farmer Producer Company”- a reality and
Priority today. He was a recipient of the civilian honours of the Padma Shri and the
Padma Bhushan.
